Q: Can I use Jabberwot to earn money?
A: Yes. When you sign up as a Jabber you are entitled to set your fees for speaking at whatever level you choose, including for free. Some Jabbers choose to charge an hourly rate for their services, which will be advertised next to their details. This transaction is always between the Wot and the Jabber and nothing to do with Jabberwot.
Q: Will it cost me to use Jabberwot?
A: There are no sign up charges for anyone on Jabberwot. It is FREE, FREE, FREE ! You may or may not be expected to pay a Jabber.
Q: Will I get lots of junk email if I sign up?
A: No. Jabberwot will never disclose your personal information to third parties, only you do that. In exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to give information to legal authorities, to protect everyone. We seek to comply with both European and US data protection laws.
Q: How do I know the experts advertising as Jabbers are genuine?
A: Jabbers build up a reputation, based on scores given to them by Wots after successful meetings. Examination of the scores and chatting with the Jabber will allow you to make up your mind.
Jabberwot will remove any Jabbers or Wots who make problems.
Q: How are the Jabbers rated?
A: After a discussion a Wot will give their Jabber marks against four criteria.
The four marks that all the Wots will then see for that Jabber, are averages for the previous talks given by that Jabber.
The Wot receives a feedback email, the day after the meeting, allowing the wot to leave feedback scores for the Jabber.
Q: If I am a Wot, how can I make an international payment to a Jabber living on another continent?
A: Please see the payments page.
Q: If a Wot finds a Jabber and wants a meeting, how can Jabberwot help?
A: Meeting arrangements are made by a Wot and a Jabber, not Jabberwot. However, to help you with clear communication and accountability, the meeting system allows you to organise a meeting and chat between the parties before your meeting takes place.
Using the meeting system does mean Jabberwot will be able to send you profile feedback requests, after your meeting.
The great majority of people are very nice people, but it is wise to meet in a public place until you get to know someone new.
Q: I want to build a diverse team of experts, can Jabberwot help me?
A: You are able to set up a collaborative group and add any jabbers that you see to it. The collaboration page contains a discussion board where you can discuss the topic. Meetings can be set up between any of the parties through the regular meeting page.
Q: How does a Jabber make sure their reputations are updated?
A: Before a meeting both Jabber and Wot must fill out a meeting page. The Wot starts the page and suggests the time, date and type of meeting and after discussions the Jabber agrees by finalising the meeting. This will mean that Jabberwot.com will be able to send out a feedback email to the wot on the day after the meeting.
Q: What is VOIP?
A: VOIP, or voice over IP, allows people to chat with each other over the internet using voice. See our Helpful Resources page for this and a lot more!
Q: If I am a Jabber, how can I protect myself from non-payment by a new Wot?
A: There is no 100% protection. But if you both decide to meet online, agree for the Wot to pay you
immediately after the discussion, via PayPal or Setcom and the payment will be more or less instant
with an email alert sent to you. If you decide to meet face-to-face, then agree on a cash payment at
the end of the discussion.
Q: If I am a Wot, when should I pay a Jabber?
A: It is important to pay the Jabber after your conversation but agree the method of payment before the conversation, see the payments page.
Q: What if I am unhappy with the way a Jabber or a Wot has behaved ?
A: If you are a Wot then please reflect this in the feedback given to the Jabber. If you are a Jabber or the situation requires it, then please contact us through our email form. Note that Jabberwot does not get involved in negotiating solutions between Jabbers and Wots, as any agreements you make between yourselves are your business alone.
